Well I do not believe that a video game alone can make someone result to going on a mass murdering spree.
In some cases it could cause a slight change in their personality, but that is it.
The reports of teens going crazy and then connecting it back to a violent game that they play or used to play is just kind of dumb to me.
The person might have been overly stressed, depressed, or just had some kind of other mental instability to cause them to go as far to kill someone.

Then there is this guy Jack Thompson that always tries to connect real life violence to videos games and claims that they are ruining the youth of America.
He frequently sends his son into stores like Best Buy, and GameStop just to prove if someone sells him an M rated game like Grand Theft Auto, Halo 3, or Ninja Gaiden II. I find that hypocritical. He judges parents for letting their children play violent video games when he sends his son to buy a violent game just to prove a point.
One of the things that made me sick to my stomach when I heard it was when he tried to connect Video Games to the mass murder at Virginia Tech(or maybe it was another school.)

Anyway I just don't think that video games alone can make someone homicidal.
