the GTA series is FAAAR overrated...I played GTA4 up to 50% and I have no intention of finishing the game...I dunno...it's just something about being an errand boy for gangs and mafia that just doesn't appeal to me...

gameplay can get repetitive...I keep having to drive from point A to point B then back to point A again...there's more but this isn't a review so...bleh

I think it wasn't just tom and jerry; bugs bunny, woody woodpecker, animaniacs, pink and the brain...actually come to think of it...I think most cartoons contain some form of violence...otherwise my school wouldn't train their animators to draw cute things bashing the crap out of each other...

Edit: ah...here we go Happy Tree Friends...very suitable for children...
great thing is...they won't even know what their watching :P

Why would you strangle someone with their own spine? They're already gonna die once you rip out their spine...what, "mercy killing"?! And nice to meet you too, Geo. I can tell people the game is MATURE, especially since the register beeps and asks if customer is 17. But I ask, they don't even really pay attention and buy the game. And I only got my PS2 this Christmas. I've been able to keep up with computers but gaming systems is something I've not been able to keep up with (something to do with NO MONEY!). My nephew loves gaming, but he has a Wii and DS, systems that have a lot of kid friendly games to keep him occupied.

And Andy, Cartoon network does enough cartoons disguised as wholesome children's entertainment thanks.

I'm still loving the PS2. It's got a couple years left before it dies. The Wii's games are just family fun, and I don't like it. :P Violence is the way to go, and that's only because I got a mature mind...

And saying you have a mature mind as a reason for liking violence is a cop out. Though I still enjoy some "childish" things, the fact that I don't immediately reach for some shoot 'em up game or gorefest movie does not lower my maturity level. Take it from the oldest person on this forum!

True, but I'm saying that I don't go overboard with violence and that I can control myself... I still love the game and what it is because it's meant to simply entertain but many people take it as something completely different...

I still enjoy the "childish" things too, I just barely turned 18... :P

Have you seen adult swim? That's what. And some parents know when to block or plain pull the plug on tvs they can't monitor, my sister just did with my nephew when she discovered him watching cartoons she didn't think appropriate-and were giving him more attitude. Michael didn't understand that not all cartoons are ok for his age, that what parents are for! And at eighteen you have the right to enjoy games like that all you like...but if any of your younger siblings tried to buy them without your parents there saying it is ok I would so deny it and without a bit of remorse (maybe even a bit of satisfaction). And yes, I do the same thing with alcohol and tobacco. I even deny people in their thirties if they do not have the proper id on them!

Most of it disgusts me so much I don't even watch it for the anime like I used to. I hate having to see the crap commercials for that stuff when I can just watch it online or rent it. I don't really watch tv anymore, just on the computer!:P

I like to keep the tv on in my room...not to watch...but it somehow causes me to focus more on the task at hand...I like that high pitched sound the tv makes....

Are you one of those guys who fall asleep in front of the TV and as soon as someone shuts it off for you, you wake up from the lack of sound and go "I was watching/hearing that..."

My dad does it, and like all fully grown males I know... -__-

Hah, not just guys! My dad stole my room when I moved out and when I visited last time I had to use the twin in my mom's room...she fell asleep to the tv, I had to get out of bed and turn it off (can't stand anything but instrumental music when I'm trying to sleep!). Though my brother-in-law can fall asleep any time. He's fallen asleep at movies several times.
