You used the pen tool in this, right? For sure, you can't do this using the polygonal lasso tool. |

I've never even used the lasso tool to extract before... You need the pen tool to do the curves cleanly. If you look at my latest wallpapers, you can see the difference in cleanliness... Yes, and if you read the tutorial, it specifically asks to use a pen tool. ^__^ |

i use the polygonal lasso tool if i feel completely lazy and unmoved, and if the scan is completely easy. the thing about the lasso tool is that, if you're tagging points as you're going around a very small curve you might accidently link it together, resulting a bad moment of your time. To make it short, lasso is for lazy moments and pen is time comsuming and requires dedicated. End pointless rant. |

LOL LILIAN! I fully agree. I realized that after using the pen tool just now that it looks better but then it's more time-consuming. Lasso tool is made for lazy moments which is like...my everyday life D: |

This is why I don't do a lot of PNGs for my site LOL... When extracting, I like to play some music to the background to distract me. Plus I only extract when I desperately need to. If the entire scan is blend-able, I blend the sucker.

actually I find the pen tool the fastest...the lasso takes too much time for curves. The pen tool in combination with the tablet takes about 5-10 minutes for a lazy extraction....tap, drag, tap, tap, drag, tap, drag and etc ...vector more

I use the pen.. I use to use lasso and found that it left too much at times.. I can normally extract pretty quick if I want too.. but it's not always fun... thanks for tutorial you do it a tad bit different from me, so I will have to give your way a try sometime.. |
