Yes, I am for gay rights. I hate stereotypes that people have about them. Care to chat?

Because of my religious views I do not go deeply into the moral aspects of anything of this sensitive a nature. But suffice it to say I believe people have the right to live however they wish without fear of persecution. I believe people have the right to believe anything they want, be anything they want...the only thing I believe needs limited is actions that are criminal, like the murderers need locked up even if it a disposition of their psyche, but otherwise, the US is a free country and I believe it should be such for everyone (and ideally the world too, but one thing at a time). There, that is my little chat, take it as you will! ;)

I know plenty of people that are gay, I got nothin against them.

One of my best friends is openly a lesbian, yet I didn't know until she told me herself.. xD
Yes, some stereotypes aren't true, but what about the ones that are?

Ex. the gay dude with the feminine voice/ appearance..?

Other than that, that's the only stereotype I assume.

Stereotype's definition doesn't mean they are untrue. It means that one group's characteristics are applied to ALL groups. Hence, they are stereotyped.

I find it amazing that some people (mainly guys) love the idea of lesbians because they imagine porno in their head, but hate the ideas of gays. That's sexist, insecure about themselves, and shows how disgusted you are about your own male bodies. Quite frankly, I agree. We women do have hotter bodies than you men do. You guys are built like slabs of meat while we women are obviously works of art. Sucks to be YOU boys...

Anyway, lesbians do get that stereotype that they all love leather and look like guys too. Did we forget that one for the ones still thinking about porn?

As for religious moral aspects, I'm Atheist so they don't apply for me... It's also a matter of interpretation of the Bible... But we can talk about religion elsewhere...

Blue Gender, you seriously have an issue with political correctness. Not that I care for the differences between calling someone a stewardess and a flight attendant, but seriously... Consideration for others is a need.

You constantly call gays, "fags." That's like calling me, a Chinese person, a Chink. Am I offended? Should I be? Is it socially acceptable in your mind? Think about it.

I hate political correctness....I resent the fact that I have to be considerate of people I don't really give half a shit about...

...not that I'm sexist, racist, or homophobic or anything...it's just I have to filter out words...which is an extra thought process, which I find a pain in the ass....>_>

I got chastised by some lady for using the word "retard" on the bus once...

as for the gay stereotypes thing...I've got nothing to say about that...lol I have a classmate who is gay, walks, talks like any other guy, and I have a classmate who isn't gay, talks with a lisp, and skips down the hall way...the irony :P

Ah fuck you epcfail. :P

I'm trying to teach the kids here to watch what they say and think before saying it. Call it parental teachings or business etiquette I've been brainwashed with over the past 4 years.

I'd still watch what I say outside. What I rant about on a blog is totally different though...

While some pc is in order some just goes overboard. I think it is all a matter of being courteous. If you wanna think that a person is a retard, that's your right...but you don't have to go telling everyone it! It is called tact and decorum, and too many people lack these. What you do in private or less public locations is up to you, but common courtesy is appreciated by practically everyone!

(Made a long post, but it deleted itself... >__<)

I agree with epcfail, It is a hassle to watch what we say.. I was taught by my mom to not use any incorrect terms.. Ex, "fags"

But there aren't always guys who imagine porno when hearing lesbian. I sure as hell dont.
I have a lesbian friend who is hawt, and another who isnt.. I dont discriminate.

I may sound like a hypocrite, but I do tend to catergorize people though.. Only to avoid certain groups.. Mainly the gays and jocks.. I guess that is in a way stereotyping though, isnt it?

And there arent always slabs of meat. xD
I'm secure with myself pretty well, I might add..

Also, I think we've discussed the whole women being works of art before. ;D

If you dont mind me asking, Demons, what race are you? Just curious..

I don't have stereotypes on foreigners.. I think foreigners are awesome, you know? They have accents. xD
Who was the Russian girl flirting with?

I was told as soon as I left my gym class last year, "Umm.. Dude.. There's someone in your gym class who likes you."
Me: "Oh really? Heh, cool. Who is she?"
Her: "Well.. HE is a guy."
Me: "O__O Tell me who.."

Yeah, I'm still a bit paranoid on that xD

I tend to let that word slip, in a playful manner.. I do catch myself and apologize though..

lol well if a friend/classmate that I'm having a conversation says something completely moronic, I'll not hesitate to call him/her a fucktard, retard, asshat, or dipshit...he needs to know...otherwise he'll keep saying moronic things in the future...

Demons: you need to grow thicker skin...my best friend calls me a chink, twinkie, whitewash, gook(I'm not korean and he knows it) among other profanities and occasionally a retard because I'm not perfect and I do say stupid things that need to be addressed, Phoenix knows it...she can tell you all about it....and no I zoned out at the lady chastising me...

Tell me something Ziddy... After knowing who this guy is, are you going to spread the knowledge amongst your friends, making fun of the dude. Going to avoid him, play practical jokes on him? Tell everyone you know about his secret?

I'm going to assume it's not a joke.

Joking about something is one thing. Making it part of your everyday language is another. The way people were brought up to think a certain way about African Americans back in the day? I dare you to say "nigger" nowadays... Blue Gender picking a fight with people he thinks he can beat or something? XD

When he gets here...

Oh, yeah the dating advertisements xD

And see, Phoenix, you make us all seem like the bad guy. No, for your information, I would calmly approach him and tell him I'm not that way. I wouldn't tell anyone else, I'm not that kind of person.

And by "That word" I meant "retard". I don't say it too often though, but like I said, it does slip. But again I side with Andy because I also get called profanities and don't take offense of it.. Demons, it is a debate, and that word may come up a bit more..

Since I have probably missed this boat, and really have no clue what was said or done... all I can say is if you don't have the respect for someone, with out saying anything bad, inappropriate, and down right rude.. then you really shouldn't say anything at all..

I have nothing against anyone, by their race, gender, religion, or sexual preference... as long as don't invade my space after you have been told my preferences.. If I say I don't like girls, then don't hit on me.. but I will be friends with you if that is what you wish... Don't spout your religion to me over and over, if I feel uneasy about it, please understand that.. and I will do the same for you...

As far as other races.. as long as you are not bashing mine, I will have the kindness and understanding of your race..

I do not care for other people who have to say negative things about this issue... even my hubby makes me mad sometimes for what he believes, but I just tell him keep your opinion to yourself, you know that is not what I think and I really don't want to hear bashing of any kind...

Like the old saying goes... "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all !!"
