Heyyo! It's been a while since I've popped in! Here's what's been going on in my world lately..

So.

I've been hanging out with my friends quite often recently and just floating about, really. My computer has been going through a bit of an "annoy the flippin' wits out of Ziddeth" phase and I'm not too happy with it. I've upgraded it with a new 1gb RAM card and I'm definitely seeing results! Basically, when I first got this computer, it came with less than the minimum requirements of operation. 248Mb RAM.

What the hell?? At least the manufacturer could've attempted to be kind and give the PC 256Mb..

But it's 1.25Gb now.
And it's able to take on lots of programs at once! Huu-ahh!

..However, that's still not enough. It will freeze upon start-up with the sound card not working occasionally. After about 2 hours, the sound comes back and the comp begins to open up programs I clicked on the 2 hours ago. Eh.

I bought this graphics tablet a few months ago, but have only tried to use it twice. ^_^:
Both times, I've loved it. I'm hoping to continue by drawing and uploading a few works onto the forums.

I'm stuck inside my house for the next week and a half. Why? Because my cellphone bill hasn't been paid and I use it to arrange times to hang out with my buddies.

I haven't been on the forums mostly because my computer would spit blue screens of death at me constantly.

I've got an acoustic guitar, but I still sort of suck at playing it haha. So, I'm reading guitar tabs while I play it. I can play a few songs, not perfectly, but decent enough.

And... That's pretty much half of it.. The rest is just boring nonsense. =D

The hell...? You can't introduce yourself AGAIN... You've got 775 posts already... You don't see ME apologizing for not being active here... LOL

I'm not good with computers. Andy might help you, if he cared about your plight. (He probably doesn't.)

My excuse is that I'm working till late at night and don't have the energy to do anything but sleep...

If you are running Windows Vista on your machine, then you might as well trade your computer in for something new and improved. You need at least 4 GB of RAM to run it decently, otherwise you are more or less screwed. Otherwise...256 RAM on your system? If that system is 4-5 years old, I'd suggest getting a new one. Otherwise....could be a host of problems, such as components slowly wearing down, you might have the wrong type of ram installed, or perhaps your original 256 RAM is bad and thus screwing things up. Try taking that out completely, and run the computer via the 1 GB stick. That might solve some of your issues.

Were there any other components added to the computer that weren't factory default? If you have additional chips in your computer, they might have a power setting that's too high for what your power supply can feed, causing your computer to slow down, and even crash. I just installed a new video card that needs 400 watts of power to run fully. Right now I'm running with a 300 watt power supply, so I ordered a 400w power supply to replace it. Here's something that might help you though:

Try adding some space to your page file. Here's how: Right click on My Computer, and click on properties. Go to the Advanced tab, aka Advanced System Settings. There will be button to click on that gets you into the virtual memory. In Vista, it's under the performance settings, under the Advanced tab. Under Virtual Memory, click on change. Select the drive you are using, and select the Custom size. Set the minimum and maximum page file size here. I recommend 3000 to 5000 be the initial parameters. It all depends on how much Hard Drive space you have available. Be sure to not overfill your hard drive either. Your computer needs some hard drive space empty for using the page file for memory. What the page file does is use your hard drive space as additional RAM. Although this isn't as fast as physical RAM chips, it takes a load off of them and improves your system performance.

Let me know how it works. I'm currently taking classes for IT and all, so I'll drop some more info when I have the time. Best of luck and I'll ttyl. =)
