You think we're wasting money on Iraq.. Look at all the OTHER things the US wastes money on.

As Phoenix said, if we leave Iraq with them still having thoughts of terrorism in their heads, you can bet we'd be in trouble..

What troops are being forced to be there? We aren't in a draft, they all signed up for the military and should have known what they were signing up for. My dad voluntarily joined the air force at the end of the Vietnam War and very well could've gone over there like my grandpa did, but luckily it ended when his training was finished. He did his stint in the middle east in between the Iran/Iraq war and Desert Storm. And yes, Ziddeth, I agree...when funds are being given to research the reproductive cycle of the Japanese Quail and other such nonsense, I don't see peace-keeping missions in the world as such a waste of money. I would like the presence in Iraq and other areas like that to be minimal, but I don't think it'll be going away any time soon!

Obama...Osama...how do you know I really meant Osama?! Though yes in that instance I did. They really shouldn't have such similar names! :P

i don't see peace-keeping missions in the world as a waste of money either. i'm not saying that the U.S. is stupid for trying to make peace in a country. i would like to help countries too.

but, when you're spending so many years in a country you're trying to make peace in that can't be helped, then it's a waste of money. so, yes, IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY.

the U.S. really has to stop thinking that they're way is the right way. they view communism as bad. who the HELL made a democracy the best form of government? i don't view communism as any good form of goverment at all. i'm 100% for democracy. but, hey, there's countries in the Middle East that are communist and are suffering. i feel that we should help them. but, on the other hand, there's countries that are communist and aren't exactly complaining. but, guess what!?!? the U.S. sees that as a form of wanting help and they help them.

i'm not evil. The United States of America: help countries that are suffering from communism THAT WANT HELP. don't just think that because we supposedly stand for justice that we should help them.

and let's face it. 95% of the time, probably even higher, we're helping countries becasue they have something we want.

remember the Rwandan genocide? The Hutus and Tutsis were fighting over supremacy of Rwanda. the U.S. ordered them to stop, and if they didn't, the U.S. would come and stop it themselves. YEAH RIGHT. they replied saying that they have NOTHING of value. so, why the hell would the U.S. want to end the genocide? and how crazy is that? they didn't even think that the U.S. would even stop a genocide for no reason.

The U.S. stepped in because nobody wants us to stay idle while people are being killed.. And think about it, most people help someone and expect to get something in return. It's called a favor. Think of helping out for oil as us doing them a favor by giving them a stable environment.

(BTW, I'm doing a class project about the Rwandan Genocide)

you know what's strange, the U.S. bombed us in the 1999 ( the whole fucking year ) cuz we were trying to free Kosovo, but when the Albanians did that to us, they just stood clear, that's just bull! but we did get ur 100 mil plane with an upgraded rocket, it could go 5km, and after, 10, and BOOM!

So aside from the issue of the war overseas, I'm curious to know what everyone has to say with the "overnight" bills Bush pushed through before Obama took office. Maybe that's why Bush looked to tired and all. :/ I can't say I like how Obama was given so much to deal with. It seems so unfair to everyone.

The thing is, it's almost impossible to fix the situation we're in within 4-8 years. The sooner people realize that, the less they will expect.

What a shitty time to be in office. At least the optimism helps...

T-Shirt sales increases cash flow and GDP (gross domestic product) and that equals good change? Who would have known...?
