Hi everybody. I'm new to the forums (obviously). A bit about me..... hmmm... well I had learned CAD for a while, but found that wasn't really for me and that my actual interest lies in Graphic Designing (don't you just love changing your major mid way? lol). I love anime and manga (my favs being D-Gray Man, Deathnote, and School Rumble). I like to play the base guitar in my free time, and experiment with new things on my computer. It's nice to make everyone's acquaintance. ^-^

LOL Welcome.

They say most people are confused and tend to change their majors up to about late Sophomore year anyway. No biggie... Good luck on Graphic Designing! That's the major I wanted, but ended up doing Business Marketing instead due to "parental guiding." It's the "lesser evil" of business... I wouldn't survive in Finance, Accounting, Economics, etc even though I have to take them as prerequisites... -__-

-__- Sorry to hear. Best of luck with all that. You have my support! So do you have a degree and/or still plan of pursuing a degree in Graphic Designing? I know many people tend to take up two professions in life. Lol, "lesser evil". How accurate.

After reading a number of these threads, I definitely know what my passtime will be, lol. This is a great forum!

Oh, I graduate at the end of this year... No time to turn back LOL...

Well I must say studying business DOES have its pluses... For example, while visiting some graphic studios in NYC, they said that the business sense was very important - something many graphic majors lack... Since I'm studying marketing and is rather interested in graphics, this has allowed me to take interest in the Advertising field of marketing. I hope to join a firm that will create commercials and ads for major companies like Pepsi, Coke, etc... That's both businessy and artistic no? ^__^ I'm building my portfolio towards that now, which is a lot different from a graphic student's portfolio...

See, an Art Director for a Pepsi ad doesn't need to know how to draw... He/she just needs to have the good ideas and then get one of this subordinates/graphic artists to do whatever he/she says... 0__o Guess who gets a bigger paycheck? :P

In order of response:

Phoenix: Hmmm... interesting views Phoenix ::takes notes and sucks up the thought of knowing business classes are required for everything:: You must be glad that you get a degree at the end of the year. Time flys when you take classes (mostly, lol). I'm pretty sure you'll have some job placements/opportunites coming to you if not already, right? Best wishes with everything! ^-^

Yusuke: It's nice to meet you too Yusuke. I'm glad I joined as well. So many friendly people! I look forward to chatting in the future. ^-^

Hello. I actually started out in graphic design and changed my mind. I went on to study interior design. Only one class till I finish my degree. I play very basic guitar, but I still find it fun. Anyways, welcome to the forum!

Thanks!! It's cool that you're so close to graduating! An early Congrats to you! I thought at one time that the scariest thing about going for a degree is the idea that you won't find work after graduating. I felt this way because I was going for CAD and then I find out that the need was dropping because the auto industry started sucking hard core. Aside from that, I wasn't liking a few of the classes either. Design was something I did here and there, along with art, so recently I had a lot of time to think about my degree (Car accident landed me in the hospital early this year. Still recooping). So LOTS of time thinking. Then the idea slapped me in the forehead that I should do design and with coming across Phoenix's Myspace page, I became even more interested, and now I'm a part of the forums! Good times. Good times. I definitely feel welcomed here! ::hugs everyone::

P.S.: Guitar is fun and greatness. Period. :D
