Neechan is an informal way to address an older sister. Regular would be onee-san. Onii-san would be older brother, niichan being the cutesy informal address. Onee-sama or onii-sama being the very formal and respectful of course.

And yes, I wouldn't if I were at a hockey game...but then again I don't really like hockey!:P

If you're friends, or are assumed to be friends/peers, you can just state their name. Saying the first name of a grownup is a sign of disrespect...

If you ever hear a kid in an anime say a grownup's first name, they are either characterized as delinquents or someone who doesn't give a damn about the older person... :P

Whoa..

Hey, Phoenix, would "-Sha" count as a name-thing as well? Or just a title?

Doesnt it mean what the person professionalizes in..? (e.g. Graphic-Sha)

You mean obaasan?

Grandpa I think. Sometimes they use addresses to people they're not really related to.

Like calling any old man you meet on the street "Gramps" or something...
