So this thread has gone from obsessive WOW players to obsessive MySpace users. Lesson here kiddies is to not be so obsessive (or know how to hide the fact that you are!) and have some kind of life that does not involve a computer! And I couldn't afford to spend that much on a hobby...I already have over $30,000 to pay back for student loans. (I say this after I just spent $300 getting my new mp3 player and headphones  )

Being geeks is the reason why we have gathered here. By grouping together, we naturally form our own defense mechanism against the society that deems us as such.

Anime is cool! I have a life!
Falling in love with a 2D character is okay!
I wish I were just like an imaginary character with distorted proportions and huge freagin bug eyes!

Etc.

Myspace can be corruptive, yes, but otherwise just something to look at when you're too busy to know what all of your friends are up to and can't visit them a whole lot. :/

I think it's good to have goals, just that some people just take it to a whole new level, like this WOW player. Quite crazy if you ask me, and I agree with Phoenix, that it's a defense mechanism to be like this.

The reason I gather here to chat: So I can relax and take it easy from the stresses of life and enjoy hearing what is on other people's minds. I also think it's cool to talk to people who are in other states, countries, etc. It's good to find like-minded people, especially when there aren't that many living in the general vicinity of local cities. =)

Kudos to this forum!!!!

Yes, but as much otaku as I claim to be, some people make ME think they're freaks! Even within fandoms and obsessions there are still levels.

about Phoenix's in love with a 2D character, I've read that a guy is trying to gather 1 mil signatures so he could marry a 2D character from manga, can't remember which..

Heh, good luck with that one...I wouldn't sign anything so ridiculous! And even if he gets the signatures, doesn't mean they will let him marry the drawing!

They will have to stylize him...

It can be done.

But how the hell will they be married?? *sees the person at the altar with a book*

They'd make a life size cardboard image for him... This character would never age or die, well after her husband has fertilize the ground... For people that have seen the movie Bicentennial Man, you know that they cannot marry the person unless they are defined as human and are capable of dying.

Wow. I don't think I'm that geeky no more. I do know someone who's like that, well I guess not as many computers and laptops as he has. He has like...6? Idk. xD

... I think Blue Gender and I are the only ones who understand what this zeek is talking about...
And now I don't feel good everytime I log on. In fear that this guy will attack the city of Stormwind with his 11 computers of doom. *shutter*

Not that I go there ANYWAY~
